I’ve spent the last few years working hands-on with dogs and their owners — helping with everything from separation anxiety to reactivity. 

Every case is different, but my goal is always the same: to bring calm, control, and confidence back into your life with your dog.

Alongside behaviour work, I also help hundreds of new puppy owners each year. Starting off on the right foot makes all the difference, and I make sure owners don’t waste time bouncing from trainer to trainer looking for answers.

I’m big on learning, you’ll often find me studying, attending workshops, and working with some of the best trainers in the industry. Dog training is always evolving, and I believe my clients deserve the very best methods available. Dogs have always been part of my life. My family has deep roots in the dog world, my parents run Bell Reed Kennels, and my sister owns Mucky Pups Parlour, her own grooming salon. 

For me, working with dogs isn’t just a career, it’s who I am.

At Sussex K9 Academy, I bring together my experience, passion, and ongoing education to give every client a clear, practical path to success, whether you’re raising a puppy or working through complex behaviour challenges.

A few years ago, I was right where many of my clients are now. When I brought home Nora, my Belgian Malinois, she was 8 months old, reactive to both dogs and people, had almost no recall, and basic obedience at best.

Taking her out in public was stressful, and honestly, embarrassing at times.

Starting her training journey changed everything. Nora was a fast learner, but the real breakthrough came when I taught her the meaning of the word “no”. For the first time, I could clearly communicate both what I wanted and what I didn’t. 

This is something I had to work out on my own, having being failed by other trainers. I was sold on the cookie cutter method training, but the truth was, that way of training was only going to help Nora so far.

That moment was the turning point for her, and for me. It lit a fire in me to understand training on a deeper level and set me on the path to becoming a professional dog trainer.

Today, Nora is still naturally a nervous dog, but she’s thriving. She needs slow introductions with new people, but once you’re in her circle, she’ll love you like you’re her own. She can now calmly walk past dogs and people without reacting, play with selected dogs we trust, and her recall is bulletproof, even off deer. 

Nora now works alongside me as a stooge and demo dog, helping other reactive dogs learn the same lessons she did.

Since then, I’ve dedicated my career to helping owners transform their dogs’ behaviour, from puppies starting out right to dogs struggling with reactivity, anxiety, and obedience problems. I work with hundreds of dogs each year, giving owners clarity, structure, and lasting results.

Dogs have always been in my blood, my parents run Bell Reed Kennels, my sister owns Mucky Pups Parlour, and now I run Sussex K9 Academy. But it was Nora who truly made me the trainer I am today.
