Daycare should not mean hours of uncontrolled excitement followed by a dog that comes home shattered but has learnt nothing about calmness.
At BRK daycare, your dog practices essential skills with a professional trainer.
The BRK staff implement the same cue system during daycare that your dog learns in our dog training services.
You will receive videos and tutorials through our training app, allowing you to apply the same system at home.
Rather than juggling three sets of rules, everyone communicates using the same language.
This creates a more cohesive experience focused on training, calmness, impulse control, and appropriate interaction, rather than just tiring dogs out and assuming that counts as good behaviour.
Experience the benefits of SK9A training at BRK for a well rounded approach.

Every new daycare training client with BRK daycare begins with a structured four-week training block.
The additional SK9A fee is £25 per week, charged in four-week blocks. BRK’s daycare fees are separate and continue to be arranged and paid directly with them.
This four-week onboarding includes:
- One trainer-led session per week for four weeks while at BRK daycare.
- Dedicated four-topic training video program available in our SK9A training app for you.
- A practical introduction to the shared cues used by SK9A training and BRK.
- Feedback provided through the kennel team.
- A clear foundation to maximize the benefits of daycare moving forward.
- An option to join the monthly daycare training membership.
The initial onboarding fee assumes that your dog attends BRK daycare once per week. If your dog attends more frequently, the standard onboarding still includes one trainer-led session per week. For a more intensive bespoke arrangement, contact SK9A training. Pricing is per dog.
The exact order may vary, but the four-week onboarding at BRK daycare introduces four core areas of focus in our dog training services.
**LEAD SKILLS**
Your dog practices calmer movement, attention, and better habits around the lead. The aim is not to produce a finished heel during one daycare session; instead, it’s about establishing mechanics and cues that staff and owners can reinforce consistently through our SK9A training approach.
**RECALL**
Recall work builds value in returning to the handler and creates structured opportunities to practice the cue. Owners can then use the matching training app lesson to continue sessions at home, enhancing the effectiveness of our dog training services.
**COOPERATIVE PLAY**
Your dog learns that play can have rules without becoming boring at BRK daycare. The READY cue starts the interaction, while the ENOUGH cue signals its end. This structure helps develop engagement, impulse control, and the ability to transition between excitement and calm during playtime. Transferring this to a home environment is the ability to ask your dog for calm when barking at the post man.
**PLACE, SETTLE, AND THE OFF SWITCH**
Dogs should not spend their entire daycare visit operating at maximum speed. Our training teaches them how to pause around distractions with Place and settling work. This supports better emotional regulation, enhances calm group management, and fosters the extremely useful life skill of doing absolutely nothing, all of which are key components of our SK9A training methods.

After the first four weeks, you can choose to stop the additional training or continue through the SK9A training membership associated with BRK daycare.
The membership for SK9A training costs £15 per week and is billed monthly in advance, paid directly to SK9A in addition to BRK’s daycare fees.
For dogs attending BRK daycare once a week, this membership offers one training session during each weekly visit. The core topics offered by SK9A training continue on a rolling rotation, allowing dogs to revisit essential skills such as lead management, recall, cooperative play, and calmness, ensuring that they don’t just complete each subject once and then forget it.
As dogs progress through the dog training services, suitable elements may be practiced in small groups, enabling them to cope with distractions, wait their turn, and enhance their impulse control in a realistic BRK daycare environment.
